Week 2

• She lost her umbilical stump, so she is ready for a real bath!


• She now eats 3.5 ounces at a time. The doctor said 1.5 - 2.0 ounces is average, so I guess she is just a big eater.


• At her 1 week doctor appointment, she weighed 6 lbs 10.5 ounces, so she is back to her birth weight. (Most babies return to their birth weight within the first two weeks, so she is doing well.)


• She measured 18.5 inches long. I guess they mismeasured at the hospital, b/c they posted her length to be 20 inches, but she really only measures 18.5.


• She decided that she doesn't want to be swaddled any more. She loves to have her arms free and up by her face. If we swaddle her arms down, she will wiggle and grunt until she is able to squeeze her arms out, or at least get her hands free.
